Values in the movie ''Pursuit of happyness''
The film I have chosen as my main focus, is ‘’pursuit of happyness’’. In this text, I will reflect on the values in the movie. The movie is about a family, who goes through a hard economic time, where they have to work overtime nearly every day.
The importance of values, appears in many aspects of our society, for instance take care of the people you love. When people gives compliments to each other, it shows that you appreciate them, and makes them a value. A value can also be something that means something for you, or makes your life easier like a god job.
In the film ‘’pursuit of happyness’’ the values are different from people to people. For Chris Gardner the values is his son Christopher, his wife and his new work. The concept value appears in the movie when Gardner wants his son to stay with him, even though he does not have money. This show that Chris Gardner's son is a value for him, because he did not want Linda to take care of him, because it makes Chris believingChris is also emphasizes that it is very important that you never give up, even if someone tells you, that you can’t do it.
I think that values are important, because it makes you a better person and it makes you happier. Chris Gardner took care of his son Christopher, and tried to get a good job, so they could make more money and have a better life together. Chris Gardner’s wife Linda leaves him when it is darkest, and his job doesn’t goes so well. Chris keeps believing and doesn’t give up to easy. He even stayed over the night on the toilet, because he and his son didn’t have anywhere to sleep. Chris works hard and gets his ‘’dream job’’ to the end. This shows that Chris has a good value in himself, which is that he is a hardworking man, and then reaches to success. Therefore, he can also make other people happier that is a value for him, like his son Christopher, because he then can afford things he could not before.
To conclude, values are very important. A value can be many different things, but it have to mean something for you. Values is also shaping the world we live in, because people have different values, some of these values is to take care of people who don’t have anywhere to stayIn the movie, Chris Gardner and his son could sleep in a room with a bed, because someone had this like a value, to take care of other people. Values is a big thing in our society, people helps people in need. They makes organizations that helps other people free, like food stations in America.

Viewpoints

1)
No, these values are not uniquely American, because they apply to other countries as well because it is not just American that has justice, freedom or democracy. Norway does also have these values in the country.

3)
I view America as a large country with a lot of people everywhere, many different people and cultures everywhere in the country.
The Norwegian media present Americans as a large country with many differences in the society, where many immigrants travels to America with a hope on a new start in their life.
5)
The values I find important are justice, freedom and democracy. Justice is important because everyone should be treated equally, so all people are treated the same for example in a court of law. Freedom is also very important because if you are not getting freedom you are going to get less motivated at work, you gets tired and maybe mad. Democracy is important because it is the people who lives in the society and they have to rule together, and not only a few people who decides what to do.

Checkpoint questions:
He hopes it could be ''anything'' because he thinks it's bad news, and want anything else.

The thing Alicia is saying that is not quite right is, that it's her baby when it is inside her body. But when it comes out its theirs baby. He doesn't want her to say ''we'', because he doesn't want to be part of it. He wants to run away and go to his mom, but he doesn't want her mom to find out that they were going to have a baby.

Sam felt bad and he wanted to go to the toilet. I can't remember that I have felt like this, maybe only when I have been taking some candy from my parents, when they didn't allow me. Then I was scared they should caught me taking candy, but I was not old at that time. I was around eight or nine years old at that time.

A day on the lake.
It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and I and a friend went out for fishing. We had a little brown boat. Our goal for the day was to catch around 3 pikes. We had been fishing in the hole summer, and the biggest pike we had caught during the season was a giant on 7,8 kilo and 1,05 meter long. We caught 4 pikes that day, and the biggest at 5 kilo. When we was heading to land in the evening it started to blow up. We had no engine on the boat, so we had to row harder to come to land. But even how hard we tried to row it felt like we didn't move at all.

We started to get nervous if we at all would survive. It started to get cold to. My friend tried to call someone with the telephone, but it was no connection in the middle of the lake. Suddenly a large wave came and rolled the boat over, so it was up side down. I got at once panic of the cold water and of the situation we was in. I couldn't see much, the sky had turned grey and it started to thunder.

Suddenly out of nowhere a huge fish or something came under our feet and started to drag us to land, I was not sure what it was, because it all happened so fast. But suddenly I was on land again, and then I realized that it maybe was the Loch Ness monster that could have helped us.
